Troubleshooting
If your mouse does not work, follow these troubleshooting tips:
- When you plug the mouse into the computer, the computer should report (by sound or pop-up) that the mouse has been connected. If it does, this means the cable assembly and the optical sensor are functioning correctly.
- If the computer reports a problem when you plug the mouse in, there may be a solder short or some other assembly error. Skip to the last item below. Inspect the area around the cable assembly and the optical sensor.
- If the mouse does not function at all, plug a different USB mouse into the same port and double-check that the port is good.
- Watch the underside of the mouse as you unplug and plug it into the USB port. When the mouse is plugged into the port, you should see a red light (from the LED). If not, inspect the mouse in the area of the LED.
- Disassemble the mouse, if necessary, and inspect the PCA. Make sure the components are installed in the correct locations and that the solder joints are done correctly.
